Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13
We believe fellowship and true friendship with other Christian men is vital to a man’s spiritual growth. There are many different seasons that a man travels through in the course of his life. The most dangerous decision a man can make in life, is the decision to go it alone. True friendships and the brotherhood of believers is a gift from God. How often do men turn down this gift? Isolation has caused men to be so occupied struggling with the crisis at hand alone, that they have no time or energy to walk into their God ordained mission to lead families, friends, faith groups, places of work and communities.
Our men’s ministry is grounded upon a foundation of friendship and discipleship. First and foremost, we seek to be friends from a place of true brotherly love. We are on this journey together, and we are all going to the same place. Every man is at a different place in his journey, and we believe in meeting our brothers where they are at. Second, we all are gifted to disciple others in some way. We are all also in need of discipleship in one or many areas. There is no better community of men, than the community where men are teaching each other and learning from each other, all from a place of humility. Struggles become easy when shared and shouldered by many, not just one. It is then that we have the energy to lead.
We believe that our elders in Christ hold a place of honor, as a source of experience and blessing. They have the benefit of seeing issues and crisis through a different lens, the lens of time. They have experience with trials, failures, successes, and most importantly the tactics of the enemy. They’ve both succeeded and failed and find themselves continuing to walk in a close relationship with Christ after seeing it all. We encourage strong relationships between the young and the old, and discipleship that leads to breakthrough for the young.
Ridgeview Church provides men with regular connection points to build their relationships with the Lord and with one another, including Steak & Studies, Men’s Breakfasts, Bible Studies, Home Groups and Annual Retreats.
