All About Ridgeview's Middle School Ministry

WHO WE ARE
Ridgeview Middle School Student Ministry is for 6th - 8th grade youth. We gather throughout the year to disciple students in God's word, worship together, provide opportunities for the students to be known, to connect and fellowship with one another, and further grow in their relationship with God. We have activities planned throughout the year, winter and summer camps/retreats & service opportunities they can join. Alongside that we love to have fun...playing games, volleyball, basketball, arts & crafts, and seasonal events like Dodgeball, Galentines Day, & Christmas gatherings.
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good words and glorify your Father in Heaven." - Matthew 5:16

Where We Meet
Middle School students meet in the new Student Ministry Building behind Ridgeview Church by the Volleyball Court. This is across from the High School Student Ministry Building.

What to Expect
SUNDAYS: We have games and live worship, followed by a sermon that aligns with the main service teaching. This provides a great opportunity for families to engage and talk about what they are learning together.
WEDNESDAYS: We have games and live worship as well, then we dive into a book of the Bible, followed by small group time and prayer. We have a fun way to earn tickets for remembering to bring your Bible, bringing new friends, memorizing scripture, taking sermon notes, etc. Students can save tickets and redeem them for snacks & prizes. We have the Ask It Basket where students can drop in their bible/life questions anonymously.
You can come casually dressed & bring a bible. No worries if you don't have a one, we have plenty here to share! You can come every week or whenever you are free.

OUR MISSION
WIN | DISCIPLE | SEND
RSM strives to align all of our activities and services with Ridgeview's mission to Win people for Christ, Disciple them, and Send them out to serve others for Christ’s glory.
WIN
Every service is an opportunity to win young people for Christ. Beyond that we plan events that are easy for our students to invite their friends to: events that are exciting and fun and that also create an atmosphere conducive to sharing the gospel.
DISCIPLE
Every time we teach, we aim to disciple our students in following Jesus Christ. Our Sunday and Wednesday services cast a wide net to this purpose, but our Multiply groups is an organized way for adults to disciple individual students and have deeper spiritual conversations outside of our typical service times.
SEND
After each service we send students back to their families and friends and schools to share the love of Christ with the world around them. Beyond that, we build in opportunities for our students to participate in ministry through opportunities like sharing the gospel, volunteering at VBS, and participating in local mission trips.
"Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you."
-Ephesians 4:32
MINISTRY MOMENTS

Pastor Joe Mayo
Middle School Youth Pastor
My wife Kaci and I have been leading the Ridgeview Middle School Ministry together since 2024. I teach & handle the technical aspects while Kaci uses her creative & hospitality giftings. Together with our incredible team of youth leaders, we have created a fun, safe, and exciting environment where we desire for students to grow in their faith and knowledge of God's Word. We have been married since 2003 and have four awesome kids!
